Volcano report

This month we are learning about how our earth changes. One one way it changes quickly is a volcano. So we are doing projects on volcanos.we're not making volcanos we're just creating writing assignment's posters or power points.  For writing assignment we have to make a two page assignment on volcanoes. For posters,we have to make or draw a volcano and label it. On the other hand we can also create power points. We have to make 5 slides and all of them should talk about volcanos. Now the one I'm doing is the poster because I think it will be a good start for me.

Soil Cakes

Line up and bring your chair and pencil. Everyone lined up then we started walking down the hall and we turned into Mrs. Groh's room. There were two bowls and a bunch of kitchen supplies.  We sat at other student's desks. All of us put our chairs on the opposite sides of their desks. Then the teachers started talking, they said they're going to make soil. Then they each poured flour in their bowl and said it was silt. Next they poured water in their bowl, then eggs. That was the humus. Next they put in  pecans they said pecans were rock's. Then  Mrs. Rowe poured over half a bag of chocolate chips in the bowl and put in some extra. Then Mrs. Groh poured the rest of that bag and some more from another bag of chocolate chips. Then they went to cook the soil. I'm pretty sure they cooked them in the cafeteria. Mrs. Groh  was telling us what to write on our papers. Then Mrs.Rowe came back with cooked soil cakes.  Mrs. Groh passed out napkins. Then soil then soil cakes  when every one got a soil cake.  WE were allowed to eat them.  I nibbled MMMM.....

Science Experiment

Did you guys know that we have science? It's really fun. You get to do a stinky experiment, so any way don't smell the experiment. We put white and brown eggs in water and vinegar. The brown egg that is in the vinegar "It's shell disintegrated!''  They also floated.  The brown egg got fuzzy stuff  and bubbled. So don't smell it. The eggs in the water did nothing.

Jobs

This week one thing our class did is we went into a website  called Paws in Jobland.  When we first got there we had to listen to a talking dog.  After that we had to take a test to see what job we might be good at.  Then we researched  that job we might like.  That is one thing we did this week.

Learning

One thing I had learned is division. Division is really hard.  Let me tell you how to do division, 36/6=?  It's like 6x? = 36 and that's how you make it easy to do division.  So that's what I have learned.

Science

In science we learned about energy.  It can be potential or kinetic energy.  When it is potential, it is stored energy.  When it is kinetic it is in motion.  We are learning four types of energy.  They are thermal, motion, light and sound. Next we will be learning about sound energy.

Musical

This year our third grade class performed music that they learned during music class to their parents.  They practiced hard during the week.  Some of the students had to also learn lines to introduce songs.  Some of the songs were Flea, Fly, Ole Joe Clark, Mama Don't 'Low, Hag Asif and Ham & Eggs.  I enjoyed participating in Flea, Fly.  What was your favorite? Watching them perform was a joy and they did a fabulous job.  I hope everyone had a great time.
